Nagaland’s famous Hornbill Festival that lasts for 10 days will be celebrated.
At the picturesque Naga Heritage village, Kisama, from December 1.
The cultural extravaganza is one of India’s most famous festivals –
a true mix of heritage,
culture,
and extraordinary color.
While we are excited about going to our first Hornbill Festival
(Have you signed up for our budget Hornbill camping tour, yet?),
Nagaland’s commitment to responsible tourism is what makes us truly happy.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima Rajesh Soundarajan,
has banned the use of plastic objects of all micron sizes at Kisama Complex,
Night Bazaar stalls at Traders Road and the High School Junction.
This year, the use of plastic and polythene,
including packaged drinking water,
will be prohibited,
Tourism Department Joint Director Akhale Vizol added.
Biodegradable materials such as paper bags or banana leaf plates,
will be used instead of plastic.
The morungs will also be decorated with eco-friendly materials.
In other news,
nostalgia is in for a rerun with Boney M set,
to perform at the Hornbill Festival on December 10.
Nearly 600 artistes from 17 tribes,
will take part in daily cultural performances at the Hornbill Festival.
The legendary group will be performing in Kohima.
